Leading Lines (Day 20)

For day 20 of this challenge I decided to take a trip downtown and capture the basic architecture of some of the buildings. These are all of the pictures I got uploaded, I may be going back tomorrow! A lot of these pictures include leading lines, which I love. Enjoy!

The One Less Traveled (Day 18)

While I was out taking a walk I noticed how this road never seems to end. It was a little dark because it was taken pretty early in the morning but I love the shadows of darkness. This also reminds me of a pretty famous quote,

“Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”

Watch It Begin Again (Day 16)

So this picture is for the beginning of my new healthy lifestyle tomorrow. I have been running more often now and my friend and I are starting our healthy lifestyles tomorrow! Therefore, I took a picture of some Cutie’s because this is what I’ll be eating for a while, sadly. She says she won’t let me buy the cheesecake at school anymore… This may cause some tears. Wish me luck!

Step By Step (Day 14)

This pictures not only continues my 365 day challenge, but it is also an insight to who I am. I do not run as much as I’d like to. I try to remain healthy as much as I can. Running has always been something I loved to do. Even though I can’t run as much as I used to, it’s something I’ve always came back to and relied on.

“Running has given me the courage to start, the determination to keep trying, and the childlike spirit to have fun along the way. Run often and run long, but never outrun your joy of running.

Feathered Friends (Day 12)

This post is for yesterday! I took tons and tons of pictures yesterday, yet I did not have time to post them. Therefore, my theme for Feathered Friends has many pictures. I don’t always get the chance to photograph animals of any kind living in town, so I took advantage of the geese and ducks following me around yesterday. All of these pictures were taken at Tower Groves, St. Louis. Enjoy!

Signs of Spring (Day 11)

Warm temperatures and colorfully saturated images are my two giveaways that spring is finally here. Daily nature walks are soon among us! The depth of field, I have realized, with this camera is AMAZING. This blur of the background brings the hyacinth in perfect focus. Spring colors truly are everywhere right now!

Serenity (Day 10)

Out in the peacefulness of nature, I decided to take a new spin-off of a typical flower. A typical flower would clearly be in color with tons of saturation. I decided that I would try a new approach to this flower photography. I originally had taken this picture in color, but with the wonders of Photoshop CS6, I converted this image to black and white. Not only did I watch something incredible happen, but it put so much more emotion behind the picture. It turned a regular “happy” flower, into something deep. This surreal experience has reminded me of some famous words from an author I once heard,

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. –Marcel Proust

Beginner Status (Day 8)

So for day 8 of this 365 day challenge I decided to take a couple mile long journey to the middle of nowhere. Not only did I get one heck of a workout, but I did teach this beginner how to use a real camera (not just a little compact cheap one). She ended up being in great lighting on the way of our journey so I took a picture while the sun was shining. I converted the picture to black and white which made the picture ten times more interesting. Overall, this was quite the adventure.
